In a not-so-shocking announcement today, Warner Bros. Pictures stated that they would be giving all rights to future DC Comics and DC Extended Universe films to Marvel Studios, after extremely negative reactions and reviews of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and most recently Suicide Squad. DC Films CEO Geoff Johns also released the following statement.
"Unfortunately, these panzy neckbeard critics don't have the fucking brain power to understand cinematic perfection, so we're gonna give the rights to all future DC films to Marvel Studios. They seem to be doing something right. Fuckers." Man of Steel and Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder has not yet responded to the announcement, and is currently missing after being attacked by actor Brendan Fraser several weeks ago. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also released the following statement. "We here at Marvel Studios are enormously humbled to receive the rights to future DC films. I very much look forward to cleaning up the cinematic shitstain of a series Snyder and Co. has created over the last few years. We're not gonna have a weird Gangsta Joker, or an 100 year-old Lois Lane, or a balding Superman, or Martha. Expect some real good shit coming. I'm talking about dat CERTIFIED FRESH BOIIIII." It was later confirmed that Marvel Studios founder Avi Arad would be directing, producing, and possibly starring in the new Marvel Studios Batman film, tentatively titled "Batman: Homecoming." by Noah EricksonBack in June it was rumored that James Wan, director of Furious 6 and several horror films, might be leaving the directors chair on the upcoming Aquaman movie. Most assumed that it was because the negative reviews of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and all the negative attention the DCEU has received in general. Thankfully, James Wan announced today that he is still directing Aquaman. He also gave the reason for why he almost left in an exclusive Skype interview with Unreel News (below).
“ Warner Bros. and I were having extreme battles with creative control. They wanted to take the film one way and I wanted take it the right way, with me as Aqua-lad. I was ready to leave the project until Zack Snyder went missing. #PrayforZack Now with him gone, Warner Bros. is perfectly adamant with me being Aqualad now. Which is great but it just leaves me feeling Warner Bros. might be up to something weird...” James Wan then lost connection with us on Skype before he could finish what he was saying, but he quickly sent us a message saying he was fine and to disregard everything he said about Warner Bros. Are you excited to see James Wan's "Aquaman & Aqualad", set to be released in July 2018? Let us know in the comments! Stay tuned for more from Unreel News! God's not dead... and neither is Hulk Hogan's film career apparently. It has been confirmed that professional wrestler Hulk Hogan has officially been announced to star in PureFlix's God's Not Dead 3. We got to sit down with the Hulkster himself at a nearby Chipotle. This is what he gave us.
"I felt like I needed to take a new step in my career, brother. I don't do wrestling anymore so I decided, why not do family friendly films like I did in the 90's? And no, this has nothing to do with my sex tape." He then went on to discuss his role in the film. "I play Jimmy Baboon, a retired WWE wrestler that just wants to be a good father and husband. Suddenly, it all turns upside down when his boy Thomas comes out of the closet. Now he seeks God for hope and forgiveness and other stuff, brother". Are you excited to see Hulk Hogan back in the film business? Do you even care about God's Not Dead? Well, it's set to hit theaters on June 9th, 2018, and is rumored to be directed by David Ayer. Rotten Tomatoes announced today that they will be shutting down operations on August 3rd, 2016, after enormous backlash from fans of the DC Extended Universe criticizing them for Suicide Squad's "33%" rating. Unreel had the chance to talk to a few fans over Skype in the DCEU community who had a hand in the situation.
So what happened when you first saw Suicide Squad's rating on the site? I fucking flipped. It's freakin' ridiculous that Finding Dory got like a 200 million percent and Suicide Squad got a 33%. Suicide Squad is amazing. Have you seen the film yet? No. So how do you know that the film is amazing? The fan (who we will not name) immediately hung up and proceeded to go on a 4 hour long Twitter rant about Unreel. Here's another interview. Did you like Suicide Squad? Yah it's amazing. There's no flaws at all. Fuck the critics. Fuck Marvel. Why can't others have opinions? They can. Just not when they're wrong. Dr. Strange is gonna get like a 100% percent but it sucks. Like all the other MCU movies. Fuck Marvel. Fuck the critics. It seems DCEU fans have a major beef with other's opinions. How wrong of the critics to offend them with these slanderous film reviews.
