It's been 10 years since the last Halloweentown movie was released and everyone probably assumed that was the nail in the coffin. Thankfully, fans of the Disney Channel movies can now rejoice as Disney's CEO, Bob Iger is reviving the franchise. The source is coming from Slash film, where they got to interview Iger at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Iger stated the following. "People always ask me about Halloweentown and if we'll ever see these characters again. At first, I didn't even know what the fuck these people were talking about because I didn't even know what Halloweentown was. During one free weekend, I got to sit down and watch all four movie and I was instantly hooked. The characters are so special and the world of Halloweentown is just so visually stunning. I really think we can bring it back." He was asked if any of the original cast would return and who would direct it. This is what he said. "We're Disney, of course we can get them to come back. Just look at the Force Awakens. Right now we only got the brother and sister and I believe the mother back on board. We're still unsure about Kimberly J. Brown. As for the grandmother, well she passed away... I think. As to who would direct it, well we only got Fred Savage right now because he really needs a job. Personally, I would love to get somebody like Brad Bird or Jon Favreau. Oh well, Fred Savage would have to do for now". There's been no word on an official release date yet but they are confirming that this installment will head straight to theaters instead of Disney Channel. So do you guys think a Halloweentown 5 should happen? Is it just another cash grab from Disney. Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more Unreel News.
