BY Noah ericksonYesterday, DC released a lot of deleted material from Man of Steel onto the web. The one piece of info that caught our eyes was the subplot with the IHOP guy.
The scene where you first meet the IHOP guy is on the bus. He calls Clark a "dick-splash." Well the extra deleted material showed us a little more to that scene. After Clark raises the bus out of the water, he was originally supposed to go to the IHOP kid and rip his dick off. It was a great feel good moment where the IHOP kid gets his comeuppance. Clark even threw in a one-liner as he threw his dick into the lake. "Look who's dick is splashing now!" Unfortunately, the scene was too graphic to keep into the film and DC has to remove all mentions of the IHOP guy losing his penis. Let us know what you think. Should DC release a "Man of Steel" R rated cut? Should we see more of the IHOP guy in future sequels? Should our staff at Unreel get IHOP or Waffle House for breakfast?

Special thanks to @PearNorton on Twitter for the scoop. Make sure to follow him! Ben Affleck says batman and the joker have a "romantic past" that will be explored in suicide squad7/30/2016 By wyatt j.p.With Suicide Squad hitting theaters in just under a week, there have been several press junkets promoting the film. Unreel was lucky enough to go undercover as a writer for MovieMama.com and interviewed Ben Affleck.
I asked Ben the question on everyone's mind. "Is there any LGBT diversity in the DCEU?" "Yes actually. Bruce Wayne and Joker were lovers at one point. Back then Joker was just a man named Victor Vale, a reporter for Gotham City News who went crazy after falling into a vat of hot milk." This is no doubt a huge step for the DCEU, and hopefully, it will open the gates for more LGBT characters in film. Following the "extremely positive" response to the reveal of Supergirl Season 2's Superman, today, The CW announced their new Batman TV series, simply titled Batman, set to premiere November 2017! They also released a cast list and the first official photo from the show, which shows the new incarnation of Bruce Wayne/Batman (below)! And there it is! As seen, the stellar quality of the new bat-suit is very reminiscent of Superman's suit from Supergirl Season 2, perhaps even better! The CW later confirmed that Batman stars John Goodman as Alfred Pennyworth, Jacob Sartorius as Dick Grayson/Robin, Lena Dunham as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Nicholas Cage as Joker, and Steve Buscemi as the man himself, Bruce Wayne/Batman. Batman is set to premiere November 2017 on The CW. Stay tuned for more from Unreel News!
Richard Linklater, director of many classics such as Dazed and Confused, School of Rock, and the Bad News Bears remake, got a chance to sit down with us at the Democratic National Convention this past week. Some of the comments he put out were very intriguing. Take a look for yourself.
Do you have any upcoming films that we should look forward to? Well, making movies is my career so of course. Can you give us a little peak of what's to come? I could but I have no idea what my next movie is going to be. I haven't even written the script. Just expect it to be like my other movies. No plot, teens getting philosophical while smoking weed, all that good stuff. We then turned the conversation to another subject. One of my favorites movies that you've made is Boyhood. It just blows my mind how you actually took 12 years to make a movie. Do you think you'll try something like that again in the future? The truth is, I didn't make that film for 12 years. That was all a lie. Wait what? You really think I would waste 12 years of my life on one fucking movie? Mason looks like the same actor. How did you get that to work? CGI, dude. Everyone uses it. They used it on Paul Walker, they used it on Jeff Bridges, and I assume they used it on Bruce Willis for Die Hard 5. He looked like he was out of it most of the time. Well, it was nice meeting you, Mr. Linklater. I can't wait to see what you do next. Yeah, whatever. Linklater then left and went to smoke a joint outside. Are you surprised as I am? Will you even see another movie of his after this big lie? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more from Unreel News! Marvel Studios announced today that acclaimed actor Gary Busey would be playing the infamous villain Norman Osborn/Green Goblin in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Homecoming. Busey also tweeted this out in response to the announcement (below). Busey told the press he would be going the method-route for his role as The Green Goblin, and will reportedly be staying several months at a mental institution (however, it is unknown if this is exclusively for the role). BY WYATT J.P.Ever since the death of the great Robin Williams, a sequel to classic comedy film Mrs. Doubtfire has been trying to get off the ground. It now seems they've finally succeeded.
WWE Studios announced this morning that they will be distributing Mrs. Doubtfire 2! The film will be directed by Melanie Mayron (The Baby-Sitters Club, Mean Girls 2) and stars WWE superstar "The Big Show" as Jim, an ex-convict fresh out of prison trying to start a relationship with his children he's never met. When his ex-wife Callie (Toni Collette) forbids Jim to see them, he must disguise himself as a nanny to get closer to his children. Mrs. Doubtfire 2 will be released on VOD this Christmas. Stay tuned for more from Unreel News! By Noah ericksonThat's right folks! The one and only Grant Gustin from the hit CW show ‘The flash' is now going to voicing the much older Dash in Incredibles 2. We asked him about his role and this is what he had this to say:
“I am incredibly excited to be in 'The Incredibles 2’. Brad Bird is a phenomenal director and has done amazing films. I exclusively play as fast characters now. Since I’m not allowed to play The Flash in the movie universe, being Dash is a good second choice. They even almost cast the original Fucktard who played Dash. Luckily, the deciding factor for casting came down to a race between me and Spencer Fox. A lot of people don’t know this about me but I actually have the same powers as the flash and thats how I was able to beat him and get the part.” Grant then ran away mid interview because he was already running late to get back to the set of Flash Season 3. For many years, Marvel's first family has never made it home with critics, fans, or the general audience. With a heavily panned movie in 2005, an even more panned sequel in 2007, and a disaster of a reboot in 2015, it seems at this point 20th Century Fox would just give up. However, that's not the case. Today, Fant4stic writer and producer Simon Kinberg came out and said that Fox is indeed working on a new Fantastic Four movie. However, it might be going straight to television. We bumped into Simon at a Seven Eleven in Downtown Miami, this is what he had to say about it.
"Oh yeah we're definitely doing that. And sure we might've failed three times but that was the past. We still love this property and want to do something useful with it. Sadly, Fox execs won't give us a big budget anymore. So I told them why not television? People love television". He goes on to continue what his future plans are while he was buying a Slurpee. "We couldn't bring back the cast from the last movie because they said they'll sue us. So, instead of going to court, we picked up a bunch of wannabe actors at a High School play and gave them a shot. We put them in costumes, gave them a few lines to say, and there we had our new Fantastic Four. I will be writing it of course but we're still looking for a director". He stated a few names of directors including Kevin Smith and anyone who directed an episode of Arrow or the Flash. He also says that The Untitled Fantastic Four reboot is going to be on ABC's new channel Freeform and is aimed at a 2018 release date. So are thrilled about this news? Do you just wish Fox reverts the rights back to Marvel? Let us know in the comment and get updated on the latest news from Unreel! |
